In a shocking incident, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was slapped by a man during his roadshow. He has alleged a BJP conspiracy behind the attack. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the man who slapped Kejriwal and an investigation is now underway.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he said, ” In the past 5 years , this is the 9th attack on me. After becoming the Chief Minister, this is the 5th instance”.
“Security responsibility falls under BJP. No state other than Delhi works this way. Is it strategic or was it a mistake? Security lapse may happen once, twice or thrice but beyond that it’s a conspiracy,” Mr. Kejriwal said addressing the media today.
Last November, a man had thrown chilli powder at him outside Delhi’s most protected building, the Secretariat. Earlier he had been pelted with eggs, shoes, and ink has been smeared on his face.
The Delhi CM said the opposition party cannot tolerate an aam aadmi (common man) in politics and that is why it plotted the attack. “There have been raids on office, house. There have been raids on properties of Manish Sisodia, Satyender Jain. Twenty MLAs were arrested. My relatives are being harassed. The BJP is trying everything to overthrow our government in unconstitutional ways.”
