Naad Yoga is the practice of experiencing pure consciousness, which transcends body and mind, through the flow of sounds.
Dhrupad is one of the most ancient and purest forms of Indian classical music. It is considered the true Naad Yoga, and it’s practised by merging the sound and its resonance with the Tanpura. It’s peaceful, meditative and truly divine!
Dhrupad music has maintained its purity of form over the years. It seeks to connect the listener/learner with his/her higher self.
To make this divine meditative music available to all music lovers and to preserve, promote and popularize Dhrupad music across the world, Dhrupad Gurukul was founded in Pune, India.
It is a non-residential gurukul that retains the sanctity of the traditional guru-shishya parampara (one on one teaching technique) while also giving you the convenience of technology by offering online lessons via the Dhrupad Gurukul App (available on Android and launching soon for iOS).
This emphasis on the traditional guru-shishya parampara ensures personalised attention, inculcates the discipline and devotion that are so essential to master the Dhrupad style, and provides a positive learning experience.
Dhrupad Gurukul offers Bansuri (flute) and vocal classes, delivered offline (for Pune residents only) as well as online (open to all who enroll). To learn more/enroll, log on to www.dhrupadgurukul.com
