Justin Owens, 33-year-old entrepreneur based out of Atlanta has established himself as a business leader. From humble beginnings, Owens grew up in Georgia helping his parents with their cleaning business; learning from a young age that he had a passion for business. Owens now works by the motto, “Start local, finish global,” and that’s exactly what he has done since starting his business in Atlanta, where he also still resides. After just three years he has expanded to areas in North America, South America, Europe, the Bahamas, and other areas throughout the Caribbean.
While building his career was not easy, he faced various challenges many people may experience. He learned how to work through things and use his experiences to fuel his endeavors and journey to success. Everything that happened, both negative and positive, has helped encourage him to become who he is today, and has expressed it was worth it all. What kept him afloat during times of adversity was his determination to stay focused on his personal development. Owens believes that a positive mindset is key to one’s success and personal growth even if the reality does not reflect what one may want to see. It is also vital to focus on the now and what is going well, right now! Mindfully practicing gratefulness and meditation are prevalent practices in his daily life, which he encourages everyone he works with to incorporate into their own daily routines. Other essential aspects of Owens daily routine include starting with a clear head and a morning workout. A crucial part of his day usually involves significant time spent networking with a variety of people, such as; mentees, current and potential consumers, along with clients and partners. Aside from his basic routine, no day mimics the next especially since COVID-19 which has turned meetings into virtual gatherings, and because a lot of his business is online, it has not shown any deficits.
Justin is passionate about changing the status quo for Black people to achieve their own success in business as entrepreneurs and leaders. He is helping people educate themselves in areas of their lives that need extra attention. Becoming a successful entrepreneur involves communication and leadership skills, conflict resolution and getting financially sound and on the right side of money. He is currently looking at creating business partnerships within the tech and real estate industries.
In business, Owens values the simplicity and longevity of brands such as Apple while he looks up to leaders such as Bob Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Dwayne Johnson. As a young entrepreneur he noticed that many of his Black idols were entertainers or athletes, and while he admired them, he wanted to achieve success through business and helping others with successful careers.
His desire to boost the lives of others has helped fuel his business development to where it is today; helping others better themselves. He wants to help people learn about how money works so they too can become business savvy and successful leaders in their industries. By showing people how to earn money through a skillset it can help them generate an income without having to exchange their time for money. He learned early on that he was going to need more than just a successful sales pitch selling candy bars or CD’s. He needed to know and understand things such as accounting, taxes, business principals and communication to get down to it and achieve success.
