For CBSE Class 10 Boards topper in Karnataka, Yashas D, concepts like destiny or good luck are just baseless myths. He believes that hard work and focus are the only two routes to success.
His belief bore fruit when the results for Class 10 CBSE Boards were recently announced.
A student of Vidyavaridhi International School in Huliyar, Yashas had scored 498 marks out of 500 (99.6%) and has emerged as the topper not only in Karnataka but in the Chennai region as well.
He hails from Thammanahalli, a remote village in Chikkanayakanahalli Taluk, Tumakuru district and was born to a family of farmers. Due to his father’s health issues, he had to manage other responsibilities alongside his studies.
“My husband had a stroke recently, and due to his illness, Yashas had to pitch in. Sometimes it is like my son has became an adult way before the right time, which is both a proud and sad realisation. But seeing him juggle the two and manage to top the state is nothing short of unbelievable. I am proud of him beyond my words can explain” says his mother, Nethravathi.
She adds that Yashas never had a dearth of potential or focus. His day would start very early in the morning, and he would walk 12 kilometres to reach his school and come back, every single day.
An aspiring IITian, the little genius plans to take up science in Class 11 and 12 and wants to grow up to dedicate himself to technology research. He has begun classes at the Vagdevi Bhavan PU College in Bengaluru already.
The team at BOhearld is proud of the little boy and wish him a lot of success in life.
