Filmmaker Scott Cooper has got full support from producer Guillermo Del Toro to make new genre film, a supernatural horror ANTLERS. The trailer of the film released online recently. If the images are to be believed nothing is hunky dory in this fairy tale looking like film. The film is set in a small town in Oregon carrying a fairy tale approach until the things change for worse. The film stars Jeremy T. Thomas (recently seen in “The Righteous Gemstones”) and Keri Russell.
The film is based on Nick Antosca’s short story “The Quiet Boy”. The original writer has collaborated with this film’s writers Scott Cooper and C. Henry Chaisson to write the screenplay. The thrilling story is available online to read. ANTLERS will release in theatres in 2020.
The film’s trailer shows loads of creepy images entirely in accordance with its creepy fairy tale theme. The official synopsis says that the film follows Oregon based teacher (Rusell) and his local sheriff brother who get involved in a dangerous secret with frightening consequences. The film also stars Jesse Plemons (as Russell’s brother), Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, Graham Green, and Amy Madigan amongst others.
Cooper has previously made “Hostiles”, “Black Mass”, “Crazy Heart”, “Out of the Furnace” & his most recent film was the Christian Bale-starring “Hostiles,” a grim exploration of life in the American West. The director has always been fascinated with the dark spirit and if we have to believe the trailer ANTLERS promises to be on the same line or maybe go a step ahead.
