Office of Innovation and Technology in the City of Philadelphia has invited the applications of tech people to manage its new program named, Pitch & Pilot. The city is looking for innovative ideas to solve municipal challenges in the public and private sectors. Pitch & Pilot program will use tech support to achieve economic and environmental goals such as SmartCityPHL Roadmap and IT Strategic Plan. These programs are waiting for the involvement of tech people or companies of all sizes.
The City of Philadelphia wants to solve the problem of trash first of all. People living in the city are complaining a lot to the Office of Innovation and Technology on litter and waste issues.
Pitch & Pilot program is launched by OIT and it is looking for tech solutions to achieve the goal of zero waste. If the city gets effective technical support, then it would eliminate the use of landfills and waste burning places in fifteen years. People can join now a community of people where tech people search for the solution of many technical problems.
The city will offer $34,000 in funding if it found a solution to all the problems. The tech people or companies can also enjoy community engagement, evaluation support and use of the city’s resources while implementing the solution.
The City of Philadelphia will receive applications until January 16, and the selected application will be notified on January 27. The selected company or a group of people will have time to implement the program up to June.
