In a moment that will go down in history, the Supreme Court granted the ownership of the disputed land of Ayodhya to Hindus. They now have the right to 2.77 acres of land in Ayodhya. With this iconic decision by the Supreme Court, the construction of the Ram Temple begins. The Supreme Court wasn’t biased and gave a verdict that supported Muslims as well. They received rights to 5 acres of land at an alternative site.
Everyone was eager for the verdict to be in favour. For years now, the people have prepared for the construction of Ram Mandir. They created pillars and doors in Ayodhya. There is even a blueprint that is ready, which is the most agreeable version, and it clearly resembles the ‘original’ Ram Mandir.
But the garbhagriha or the inner sanctum is not yet ready. It is the most holy place, where the idol of the deity Ram Lalla will reside. It will be on the ground floor.
The structure of the Bhavya Ram Mandir needs 212 pillars. Half of the pillars are carved and ready. The pillars will be arranged in two stages, 106 pillars each. And the top tier will have a roof. There is a shikhar, in the blueprint of the Mandir. It will be on the roof, and will give the temple a grand feel. It will be 128 feet high and 140 feet in width and 270 feet in length. In addition to this, sandstone paving of around 1.75 lakh cubic feet of sandstone will also be carried out.
Ram Mandir will have five entrances: Singh Dwar, Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Pooja Room and the all important “Garbhagriha” with parikrama. Apart from all the grand and pompous structures adorning the Mandir, people also want a giant statue of Lord Rama to be in the premises of the temple. It is quite unclear whether it will happen.
Sources are unsure about the period of time required to complete the mandir, but they have predicted it may take 4 years. Alok Kumar, international working President of VHP, said that he can’t exactly tell a timeframe.
