Supreme Jones, better known by his stage name DJ Preme, is a popular DJ originally from New York City. Born in the early 90s, Preme spent the majority of his childhood living in Brooklyn, but he later moved to Newark, New Jersey in order to complete his public school education at University High School. Preme explains that his mother actually named him after Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff. Preme’s mother was a close friend of Kelvin “50 Cent” Martin. Many fans of rap artist Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and viewers of the film “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” are aware that rapper 50 Cent chose his artistic name in honor of the local street legend. Evidently, DJ Preme’s mother spent a significant amount of time with both McGriff and Kelvin Martin, two individuals who rapper 50 Cent clearly looked up to at one point in time.
DJ Preme explains that although his family has ties with the infamous 50 Cent, Preme personally is connected with the rapper 50 Cent. The artist is somewhat like an uncle to Preme. Although they are not related, most people say that the two share many similarities and even favor one another. Preme looks to 50 Cent as a mentor figure. He explains that both the artist’s success and mindset have been truly inspirational to his process of navigating through his own career as a DJ. Over the years, Preme has been able to showcase his DJing skills across the world. He has even achieved awards and letters of commendation as a result of his expertise.
A glance at DJ Preme’s social media pages would reveal that he is quite comical and simply loves to bring joy to others. Preme describes Facebook as a digital playground that should provide a fun environment for folks to escape from some of their daily stress. Preme’s decision in what he posts on social media is also reflected in his career choice as a DJ. He is able to bring joy to the attendants at whatever venue he performs at by playing their favorite songs and encouraging them to dance some of their pain away.
