The government of India has set new plans to attract a large number of foreign tourists in the country. The Tourism Ministry in India has brought a new five-year and one-year e-tourist Indian Visa plan for the tourists. The people of foreign nations applying for five years e-tourist visa to India can get it at USD 80 and a one-year e-tourist visa at USD 40.
The tourism ministry of the country has also introduced a short duration e-visa plan of one month for tourists at USD 25.
The tourism industry has introduced these plans primarily to target the upcoming tourism season between July and March. These India Visa plans will also remain active during lean period between April and June.
According to data released by the tourism industry, there is a 2.1 percent growth in the tourist numbers from January to July in 2019 as compared to the same period of 2018. The government of India is looking to increase this marginal growth by reducing visa to India fee.
India has set a regional tourist office in China because the country is experiencing a large growth in Chinese tourists every year. Almost 50 lakh Chinese people travel across the world every year. Out of them, 3.5 lakh visit India. The tourism ministry has put signages in all the places related to Gautam Budha where Chinese tourists love to visit.
In addition, to seek more growth in the tourists, the country has reduced the GST rate for room tariff of Rs. 7,500.
