There are few options left for sportier sedan with SUVs in demand. But Toyota is modifying its two sedans to offer something to customers with sporty bend. It includes even the traditionally reserved Toyota Avalon.
Toyota’s official website has included the 2020 Avalon TRD in the vehicle’s build configurator after the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. It starts from $43,295 including the mandatory destination charge. Any color other than silver or black will cost an extra $425.
Toyota has added a set of 19-inch matte black wheels, Piano Black front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffusor along with slightly larger front brake discs on in the Avalon TRD. All of this can be availed at the Huntington beach Toyota dealership as well as several other dealers across the globe. The front and rear brake calipers are red in color. Other than the black aero accents and a rear spoiler, the biggest difference is a TRD suspension.
The height will be dropped by 0.6 inches with a TRD- tuned set of coil springs, shocks & under braces. It will have 3.5-liter V6 with 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque under the hood. There is also a TRD exhaust to create less of a muted soundtrack. The exhaust outlets are polished stainless steel.
The interiors are black with red accents. The front headrests receive stitched TRD logos. Seats have suede and cars running in cooler climates has them heated. Only 1 option package will be available for the 2020 Avalon TRD: a Premium Audio package. It will have factory navigation. Customer will need to add $1,760 to the price for upgrades.
There is a second TRD sedan in the pipeline from Toyota. It is likely to be more accessible.
