OXSA [Patrick Eichenberger]
Patrick Eichenberger was born on June 1, 1984 in Geneva to a middle class Swiss family of non-musicians.
1988 Childhood
His great Aunt could already see him listening attentively to all the objects that could vibrate or resonate within his reach.
A curiosity that developed thanks to this century-old upright piano in the living room which nobody played. From the age of 3, Patrick bonded with him in order to discover the friendships hidden between the notes.
At 4 years old, his canteen “Au claire de la Lune” convinced a retired piano teacher to take him under his wing, and became like his grandmother at heart.
During those early years, she taught him the basics of piano and music theory through classical music and by listening to his first “small compositions” inspired by his current idols: Amadeus Mozart, Ray Charles and Jean-Michel Jarre.
The 8-year-old Father Christmas gave him a small synthesizer arranger with which he has fun giving his first small concerts with his family, then in front of his school class.
2001 Birth of OXSA
At 17, he produced himself by burning his first album “2001 the OXSA odyssey” which was a big hit in the neighborhood and with his new entourage of breakdance dancers.
After technical training in the studio or in a concert hall, he undertook an apprenticeship in electronics in a sound company (ZAPaudio).
2004 OXSA Live band
At 20, he met Tim and Kino, a bass player and drummer he was recording for their band. Since then, they have worked together on the live adaptation of OXSA’s electronic tracks, bringing a new acoustic and scenic dimension.
Under the nickname “OXSA Live Act”, the trio perform on various occasions generating curiosity and interest in the local audience.
In June 2006, they played at the Fête de la Musique in Geneva, and for the occasion, OXSA composed and produced a second album “OXSA: In Vision”, 12 tracks decidedly more electro breakbeat.
Until 2008, he did several solo live performances with his machines, while continuing to compose.
He recorded Rock and Classical musicians to produce a third album: “BackGround”, where breakbeat mixes with jazz and classical influences.
