Amazon founder was confronted by an Animal Rights Activist on stage. The protestor breached the event security to find her way to the stage with a flower in her hand. She directed her protest towards Bezos and stated:
“Jeff, you are the richest man on the planet, You can help the animals.” according to reports. The Amazon founder sat calmly on stage while security removed the woman.
The protestor was identified as Priya Sawhney and she claims to have been protesting against the ill-treatment of chickens. It is believed that the farm provides chickens to Amazon and the chickens are not kept in suitable conditions.
“Animal abuse is the crime here, not animal rescue,” Ms Sawhney claimed in a press release.
“It’s time Amazon and Jeff Bezos take a stand for transparency, rather than actively suppressing the truth.” She further stated.
Bezos is yet to respond to Ms. Sawhney’s concerns.
Recently, Bezos announced his divorce with his wife of 25-years. It is believed that Bezos was unfaithful in their marriage. Bezos’ divorce cost him 50% of his fortune which his now ex-wife, later donated her 50% share to a charity. His wife received an amount of $37 Billion following the divorce along with shares in Amazon.
