People are habitual to try all the tricks to increase the battery life of their laptops including dimming the screen, closing the unnecessary apps and turning off unused wires. But the applied tricks are working only when the battery has an operating lifetime but the outdated and long used batteries could not be enhanced with such tricks.
So the laptop users must find if it is time to replace battery or not. There are many accidental cases that are coming forward where users were operating their laptops with expired and old batteries. These old batteries are harmful to users and the system as well.
A laptop’s battery life drains over time and this is the right time to replace the battery with a new one. Now the laptop manufacturers and Microsoft have developed many ways for users about how to know about battery life and replacement time. This also works the same with smartphones and iPhones.
On a Windows laptop, the best way to find out if it is time to replace the battery is by generating a battery report. Users only need to launch Command Prompt after right-clicking on the lower left corner of the screen.
There is a lot of information that could be analyzed from the battery report including the battery’s capacity history and analysis for the last three charge cycles. Laptop users can also make an important metric with Design Capacity and Full Charge Capacity of battery.
Design Capacity is the power a laptop can hold when it was first used and Full Charge Capacity is how much it can hold now. A slight difference between both the capacities is acceptable but large difference in both should result in replacing the battery.
