When you run your own business, encountering obstacles is inevitable. The most important thing to remember in a situation like that is that they are temporary and will pass as long as you do not give up. Beyond this standard advice, however, it is still relevant to gain insights from people who have walked in your shoes, such as Jessica Tutino.
Jessica Tutino is the founder of General Management Team, where she conducts full turnkey operations and consulting for new and established MMJ and CBD brands across the United States. Jessica is an entrepreneur who understands the value of hard work, concentrated effort, and pure grit in overcoming whatever obstacles might come your way.
In this article, she delves into her strategy for overcoming obstacles and achieving success as an entrepreneur.
Proceed Like Success Is Inevitable
As a woman operating a disruptive company in a male-dominated field, Jessica has encountered multiple obstacles. However, perhaps the most significant hurdle she has had to jump is herself.
“I would say my biggest obstacle to date has been investing in and believing in my team and myself,” Jessica states. “I ventured off and created my own company around four years ago, so it took some intense saving even to reach that point where I could launch.”
So what kept Jessica going through the struggles of getting her business off the ground? Her favorite quote.
“Proceed like success is inevitable. I pretty much live by that saying because it is so powerful. You need to see a clear picture of where you want to get to. Have complete belief that one way or the other, you will get there.”
Be Willing to Do All it Takes
Of course, having the belief that you will reach your goals will not get you there. That is, not until you supplement that belief with action and become utterly devoted to your vision.
“Make sure it is what you want,” Jessica advises. “A lot of people end up frustrated and discouraged because they are chasing goals that are not their own. Sometimes, they even absolutely hate what they are doing. If it is what you want, chasing it will be easy. Go for it with everything that you have.”
Be Okay with Sacrifice
Achieving success despite obstacles will undoubtedly take a level of action and dedication that most people are unaccustomed to. If your goal is truly worthy, this reality should only motivate you to try harder.
“ You have to be able to set apart what you want and need in life and make this something you NEED. You also have to be ok with sacrifice because anything worth something usually requires sacrifice.”
By following this strategy to the letter, Jessica has witnessed incredible success in her own life, and she believes anybody can do the same.
“ Don’t see anything as a permanent threat,” she advises. “Whatever tries to throw you off, you need to approach it as a learning curve. Extract the lessons and move on quickly. This is how you gain experience, and this is how you inevitably succeed.”
