Inspiration In The Music Field
Nathalie Miranda, the London-based music star says emotionally, ‘You know what; I remember the time when I heard Freddie Mercury had passed away. I was very young but I remember thinking, oh wow, that’s the guy with THE VOICE! That’s the guy that I want to be like! My mum had a massive record collection and she would always play her favourite albums, and Queen was one of them. This is what made me want to pursue music. I just wanted to be on stage like Freddie all the time!’
If you watch the video for ‘Battle Scars’, you will see a moment just before the second verse where Nathalie removes her mic from the mic stand. This is something Nathalie really wanted to include in the video as a tribute to her idol. ‘I really channeled Freddie during the filming of the video. To me, he is the ultimate artist, and he inspires me to be the best artist that I can be’.

‘Battle Scars’ is an epic song about a woman who has come through a bad relationship. This is just the beginning and she decides to come back stronger than ever. After the soulful vibe of ‘Catch-22’, she returns with ‘Battle Scars’ with retro 70s vibes both in style and visuals. Nathalie shares, ‘I really enjoyed filming the band scenes as it was an opportunity to really perform. I haven’t been able to do so for over a year now due to the pandemic’.
The main thing about ‘Battle Scars’ is that it is actually a positive song about empowerment and coming back stronger than ever.’
Nathalie’s View On Diversity In The Industry
Nathalie shares, ‘Diversity is extremely important. Number one; diversity makes for a richer life experience. Everyone has a different view, culture, favourite film, singer and so on. This is what makes life fun; the differences between us. We should celebrate these differences.
Number two; it’s important so that we can educate ourselves about other cultures around the world and gain perspective.
Number three; it will help promote acceptance. Through exposure to film, TV shows, documentaries, we might find that we have more in common with other cultures than we thought. But it’s also okay to be totally different!’
Aside from promoting her new single ‘Battle Scars’, Nathalie is currently working on some new projects which are planned to be released in 2021. You can visit Nathalie Miranda’s website to find out more about her music.
