Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview that the general elections are a far cry from choosing a class monitor as it will decide the direction the country will take.
Modi, when asked why the narrative of this election was so polarizing, said one has to understand that we are not choosing a class monitor here and are deciding the direction our country takes.
He added that we are deciding the future of 130 crore Indians and especially when 65% of the population is under the age of 35, a lot is at stake.
He said that this poll will prove to be a turning point in India’s rise in the world and it has clearly brought out the differences between the two sides.
Modi also said that people will be able to make a choice between those who stand to protect the guilty of sedition and those who live and die to preserve and protect India’s integrity.
He didn’t name the Congress but said that the fight is between “ those who proved India’s mettle even in space and those who brokered defence deals and weakened Indian defence system”.
Modi also added that it was also a fight between those who made headlines with scams in each and every sector and those who ended the entire culture of scams.
