Tongues were set alight when the International designer Prabal Gurung took to Instagram to wish friend Karan Johar a Happy Birthday.
“Pyar Kiya Tho Darna Kia” wrote the New York based Nepalese designer along with a picture of himself and Karan Johar to which KJo replied, “Control yourself bhaiya!”.
Twitteratis spotted the exchange immediately and speculation of the pair dating spiraled a buzz on social media.
Gurung denied any dating rumors and took to social media to clarify that the pair are just “dear friends”.
“Can we have some humour and levity, please. I feel very saddened and disappointed to need to say this, but to officially set the record straight: I am not in a romantic relationship with Karan Johar,” he wrote on Twitter.
Gurung further added that he is a huge fan of Bollywood and loves Madhubala. He claims that Karan Johar is a “dear friend”, mentor and Guru for him.
Prabal claimed that he has been in a romantic relationship for the last Five years but not with Karan. He also expressed deep disappointment in regards to the speculations, describing them as “immature” and “unfounded”. Going further, he shared that considering we are living in the 21st Century, the world has become incredibly diverse. And such a rumor is, in fact, hurtful, he wrote on Twitter.
