An exercise routine is necessary for a disease free life. But the pandemic that has covered the world has confined people inside their 4 walls.
During a pandemic shut down, one cannot use the gym, or visit a wellness studio, swim in the public swimming pools, and go to parks for a daily walk. Although this lets the spirits down but in any case one has to get up and stay active in all the ways possible. Exercising at home is the only option.
Staying active is of paramount importance right now as one cannot take health for granted. There is no way to visit doctors and increase the burden of hospitals. We cannot let our immune system suffer as well. The body needs to be strong to keep away from all the health problems.
So home should now be your new workout station. From Yoga to weight training using water bottles, squats, planks, cardio, skipping, to pilates, there is so much one can do. The quickest and easiest way to stay active is to practice a few easy beginner yoga poses in your home. Yoga will keep you active plus increase flexibility. Plus with increased intensity, it keeps the weight at check and also relieves stress and anxiety which are bound to rise during this crisis.
A good aerobic session combined with strength training will boost the heart rate. One can run in a place, do some jumping jacks and skip to get the heart pumping and keep cholesterol levels in check.
One has to be active most of the time. For every half an hour you sit, stand for 3 minutes. Avoid inactivity at all costs as it will make you sad, gloomy and unhealthy. Even leisure activities like gardening or dancing are great ways to be active all day long. If you are a cleaning freak then find new ways to clean the house and keep yourself engaged. These minutes add to the overall active minutes of the day.
