Researchers have revealed that drinking Tomato juice regularly can decrease the chances of cardiovascular disease. It was reported that the consumption of tomato juice can reduce blood pressure and also help control cholesterol levels.
A very large number of people in India suffer from heart disease due to unhealthy lifestyles such as poor diet and lack of exercise. Though simply adding Tomato juice to the diet will not do anything. But if we add tomato juice to our healthy lifestyle, we could greatly decrease the chances of attracting heart disease.
Other risk factors such as stress and smoking can also be modified to reduce the chances of heart disease. But age is a factor that cannot be modified. But if we ensure that we follow a lifestyle that is healthy there is a chance that we can reduce the probability.
Tomato Juice contains bioactive compounds such as Vitamin A, Calcium and Gamma-aminobutyric acid which includes many benefits, such as reduction of cardiovascular diseases, according to an article published in the Food Science and Nutrition journal.
The study was carried out on 184 men and 297 women. They were researched for one year and it was found that those who consume up to one cup of Tomato juice a day saw a significant difference in their blood pressure which was improved as compared to those who did not consume Tomato juice.
