Santa’s Promise was released on December 1st, 2020 as announced by St. Michael Movies, which is its seventh film. It is a Christmas comedy directed by Bill McAdams Jr. He has also directed movies like Captain America, Good Will Hunting and the Avengers movies.
The protagonist of the romantic comedy Santa’s Promise is Nicholas Hollyhock and he is an ex-convict. He is asked by his dying uncle, Cosmo Lambini, to give away his fortune to save his soul. This supposedly easy task for Nick gets difficult when Lance, his estranged twin brother, wants to inherit the entire property.
Mike Mergler, the founder of St. Michael Movies, is the co-writer of the script and does not define the movie to be a typical Christmas movie. He says, “This movie is a comedy with an unorthodox premise but ultimately the story steers the audience to a spiritual rather than worldly understanding of the real meaning of Christmas.”
Santa’s Promise casts Katie Mitchell, a Cincinnati native who attended Xavier University with a major in Theatre Performance, toured with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. And she was also a member of Ensemble Theatre’s Professional Acting Apprenticeship Program. Josh Katawick is also part of the movie, he is a part of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s resident acting ensemble and a native from Ohio and Daniel Britt who is a member of Actor’s Equity and also an Ohio native.
