Born in San Antonio, Texas. David Johnson Jr. is an entrepreneur & a full time athlete. DJ Johnson plays basketball while he also networks online to catch some side income money by connecting with different entrepreneurs just like him. While he’s not working online, he trains with his private basketball trainer to perfect what he’s already good at. Other than work, DJ Johnson also loves to travel and loves to go on numerous vacation trips with his girlfriend, family and friends.
DJ Johnson’s Career
His basketball career initiated when he earned college credit while still being able to participate in the basketball program in every school he attended. Knowing what he was gifted with, Johnson fully utilized his abilities to perfect his skills while in college. DJ Johnson was on full rides in every college he attended which made him eligible to earn his degree while still being able to play on the court.
He states that his biggest influencers in the basketball industry are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawaii Leonard, James Harden, Russell Rosebrook, and Paul George. DJ Johnson considers them as his mentors as he looks up to these specific basketball players because they remind him of how he plays basketball and want to be as good as them one day.
Accomplishments
Each person has his own definition of “success”. For DJ Johnson, he states that his biggest accomplishment in his entire career is that he turned his dream into a reality.
“I have been playing basketball since I was in elementary all the way through high school till now.”
When Johnson was at Victoria College, he was awarded with the Male Athlete Academic Award for having the highest GPA in the men’s basketball program. After his first year at Victoria College, he received an offer from Mount Mercy University to play basketball at their school from 2018–2020.
Early Life
David Johnson lived with his mother and two brothers up until he moved out to continue his athletic career. He attended three different collegiate schools. He knew that his dream & passion was to become a basketball player since his early adolescent years when he was rewarded during his school & college days.
The main reason why iamdjjohnson plays basketball is because he wants to make a name for himself and his family. DJ Johnson’s father passed away back in 2005. The reason why he wears the #23 as his jersey number because that was his father’s basketball number, and to make him proud & continue his legacy, DJ Johnson is passionately working on his skills.
DJ Johnson’s mother is indeed a very strong woman who has been a single parent ever since his dad passed away. She took care of all of her sons, including DJ Johnson, all on her own. So, giving back to his family, and making them proud. Whatever he does is for his family and to make them proud of him and to let them know that he made it!
His family makes sure he remains to have God in his life at all times, because being spiritual & religious is a very important aspect for peace when chasing your dreams because only God can grant you the lifestyle you wish to have. His family is very important to him because they have helped make his dreams a reality and they know who they are.
Future Plans
In the upcoming years, DJ Johnson says that he sees himself happily married to his beautiful & gorgeous girlfriend Natasha Popovich and living a luxurious life. He has also planned on having two kids that will be twins, as they hope and travel the world together as a family.
He also sees himself continuing his basketball career as a pro player or as a full time head college basketball coach, as basketball is his lifelong wish & a passion as well.
