Pakistan Super League has remained the only high profile tournament that could be enjoyed by the cricket fans in the country. Now PSL is heading towards its fifth season in 2020. There are many overseas players that are expected to play in the upcoming season including Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and former West Indies captain, Darren Sammy.
Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the tentative dates for the PSL 2020. The tournament contains six teams and will start in February 2020.
Like earlier PSL seasons, the upcoming fifth season will not be played in UAE. It will be played in Pakistan. The decision was taken after successful hosting of Sri Lanka for T20, ODI and Test Series in 2019.
Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet announced the complete schedule of PSL 2020 but confirmed the tentative dates of the opening ceremony and final. The opening ceremony of PSL 2020 is expected to be held in Karachi on 20th February and the final will be played on March 22nd in Lahore.
TransMedia Group & ITW had taken the responsibility to organize the opening ceremony in the past seasons. But for Pakistan Super League 2020, the opening ceremony is expected to be organized by Jalal and Satti.
There is a buzz in the Pakistan media that contract has been given to Jalal and Satti after finding it on the merit of high standards. In the last season, Quetta Gladiators had won the title after defeating Peshwar Zalmi by eight wickets. The upcoming season is expected to be more popular because many reputed overseas players are going to play in the tournament.
